Continuing Education

Up to 13 CE credits are offered

This hybrid-online EFT training provides  13 credits of CE for psychologists, social workers,  and drug counselors;  13 contact hours for CA nurses;  5 hours of CE for counselors

Prior to registering, please review the CE details, course objectives, agenda, and conflict-of-interest disclosures below.

ACEP is an approved provider for:

American Psychological Association (APA): ACEP is approved by the APA to sponsor CE for psychologists. ACEP maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB): ACEP, provider #1048, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. ACEP maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: 2/28/22 - 2/28/25. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval. Social workers participating in this course will receive 14 continuing education clock hours.

National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC): ACEP has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7336. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Association of Comprehensive  Energy Psychology is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Objectives

  1. Name 3 common challenges in using Tell the Story Technique with clients.
  2. Identify the 4 options for Setup Language.
  3. Choose Setup Language to be more specific in tapping rounds.
  4. Choose Setup Language to be more global in tapping rounds.
  5. Use Setup Language to minimize emotional pain on an intense event.
  6. Design and deliver an effective Preframe about the Tell The Story Technique to clients.
  7. Adjust the Movie Title to avoid targeting high intensity details.
  8. Apply the Movie Technique to a Specific Event without knowing the details.
  9. Clear intensity from individual crescendos without knowing details of the story.
  10. Use Setup Language to keep the client detached from a highly traumatic event.
  11. Apply Chasing the Pain to a Specific Event.
  12. Apply Chasing the Pain to an event for which only physical symptoms are available.
  13. Target physical sensations in detail with the EFT Basic Recipe.
  14. Conduct “Say This…” tests to evaluate results and find new aspects.
  15. Conduct Vivid Visualization tests to evaluate results and find new aspects.
  16. Measure Tabletops at the beginning and end of a session.
  17. Identify solutions for five of the most common challenges in using Tell the Story Technique.

Descriptions and Learning Objectives for Live Small Group Trainings in PS2

Week 1 60 minutes

Facilitators review the concepts presented in the week 1 modules. This discussion includes:

  • Reintroduction to “Preframes” which are used to introduce EFT to new and existing clients
  • Common problems encountered by the clinician when integrating EFT into an established or new clinical practice.
  • Review of 2 key techniques to which the students had been introduced in PS1, Tearless Trauma Technique and Tell The Story Technique.
  • Deeper dive into using preframes to introduce Tell The Story Technique to new and existing clients.

 

Learning Objectives Week 1:

  1. List 3 essential components of an effective EFT Preframe when introducing EFT to a client.
  2. Name 3 qualities of a specific event, as defined in EFT, before initiating Tearless Trauma and/or Tell The Story Techniques?

 

 Week 2 60 minutes

Facilitators answer questions and discuss a technique to which students have not previously been introduced, The Movie Technique. Instructions for how and when to use the technique are discussed. Students are prepared for the first of 2 big practice sessions that occurs in week 3. 

Learning Objectives Week 2:

  1. Describe at least two of the challenges that are important to consider when using The Movie Technique?
  2. Be able to demonstrate the use of The Movie Technique?

 

Week 3 60 minutes

Facilitators lead discussion of the importance of using purposeful language when utilizing EFT, the introduction of “Say This…”, a new testing method, and learning to recognize when a client may have strayed from the target story and are “Daisy Chaining.” Students practice one round of combining tearless trauma and tell the story techniques with testing.

Learning Objectives Week 3:

  1. Describe how to use of purposeful language to minimize Daisy Chaining?
  2. Delineate the steps for using the testing method “Say this…”
  3. Be able to demonstrate the full combination of tearless trauma and tell the story techniques with testing. 

Week 4 60 minutes

Facilitators review previous week’s practice session and set expectations. Students practice a second round of combining tearless trauma and tell the story techniques with testing. Discussion of ethics & risk management issues when using EFT and considerations for using EFT in virtual sessions.

Learning Objectives Week 4

  1. List 3 ethical considerations in the practice of EFT.
  2. Be able to demonstrate the full combination of tearless trauma and tell the story techniques with testing.

Week 5 60 minutes

Facilitators answer questions regarding the introduction of a newly introduced technique, Chasing The Pain and two new concepts, The Apex Phenomenon and Borrowing Benefits. Student’s questions are addressed as training is wrapped up.

 Learning Objectives Week 5:

  1. Be able to Demonstrate the Chasing the Pain Technique
  2. Describe the Apex problem and a client’s hesitation to attribute the resolution of their issue to the EFT?
